Re: [T3] Governor shaft

<x-flowed windows-1255>>> My tranny has a little bit of grease covering it. I'm probably going to
degrease it when I get a chance (after I change out the ATF) to see if
there's a real leak or just decades of accumulated minor seepage.

The governor won't fall out when you pull the cover. It is horizontal.
Just don't pull it out to replace the o'ring seal. leave it in place.
Daniel was lucky. Usually that square drive piece drops down into the
differential. Then you have to go fishing with a magnet in the
differential to get it out.

I realised when I put it back in yesterday that it was originally so loose that the second I touched it the end must have come out. It was only when I reinstalled it that I realised that it is not _supposed_ to revolve when it's pushed the whole way in.

Definitely don't touch it unless you have a really good reason; e.g. it won't shift out of first or something.
