Don't some dishwasher powders contain salt? Corrosion was certainly a problem when they were new. Maybe I'm just behind the times - don't have a dish-washer (Gasp!). Well, it's sometimes a battle of nerves between Anne and me, but I give in quite often. Steve's the one with the iron nerve though. ;-) Could be the excess sodium ions prevent the calcium ones leaving lime deposits. Dave.
