Of course you don't want to drive the car this way. > My tranny has a little bit of grease covering it. The grease doesn't hurt anything, and keeps everything from corroding. Any real leaks will make that area look wet rather than just dry and gunky. Any time you plan to open something on the AT you should clean around the edges first, just to make sure that no dirt falls in when you open things up. This is not much of a problem for the pan, but I'm always really careful with the governor and its cover. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
