In general, I agree with you completely. The car I mentioned was a VERY special 
car which the owner brought over here on a lark. He was not a US citizen and 
never even set up permanent residence here. I think he had in mind selling the 
car here for a tidy profit, since it was such a desirable model, but found that 
this was just not going to be possible. In the end, he and the car both went 
back to europe where they lived happily ever after....    ;-)
