(like your 912 example) A little more research bears the following: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-18483.html Sounds a bit like the d-jet (as in, not true sequential FI, etc, but the whole throttle body thing seems very strange.). This appeared to have been fitted in 76-79 Sevilles with the Olds 350 engine. It's possible that this is less related to the true D-Jet as those Nippondenso units. In fact, It appears this may be a Bendix-manufactured variant of the D-Jet, I'm just not sure. Bendix did hold many of the patents used by Bosch on the D-Jet, under license. I'm finding it surprisingly hard to find more info on this system. I'd love to find out more about this. >That car was slipped in from >europe, driven here for a few years, and then shipped back to europe after >getting it legally titled here proved to be impossible. > > > I never understood why people brought black market german cars into the country if an american version of the same or similar model was available. My family had friends that did this as recently as the 80's, but it just seemed too much of a pain to be worth it. They were a nightmare when people came to me to buy parts back when I was working in auto parts in the late 80s/early 90s. Was the exchange rate that favorable? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
