I'm basing my statement on what I found here:
http://www.164club.org/d-jet.html This list is by no means
comprehensive, as there do appear to be small omissions. (like your 912
example)
A little more research bears the following:

Sounds a bit like the d-jet (as in, not true sequential FI, etc, but the
whole throttle body thing seems very strange.). This appeared to have
been fitted in 76-79 Sevilles with the Olds 350 engine. >>
My dad had a 77 Vega Cosworth with Bosch D-jet. He loved that little car, but
sold it to buy 2 type 3s and have some left over cash for his winter
vacation. : ) Tram on the Samba t-3 forum is big time into Mercedes, along with being
a t-3 FI guru like Jim and Russ. :D
Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof and IRS
71 Square, now a 2 seat Roadster, pics can be seen at;
http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2977 and now awaiting a 2.0L t-4 engine
transplant, finally have the needed parts : )
