Congratulations on your new friend, and the parts you got from him, but I 
encourage you to not just use new parts because you found some, rather you 
should consider that these are just about unobtainable, so it's in everyone's 
interest that we all work to conserve what we have. To me, that means 
rebuilding parts whenever possible, rather than throwing away parts that might 
be rebuildable and consuming some of the last available inventory.

I'm always willing to try to rebuild brake parts, but I'll let you know if they 
just won't make it.

That sounds like an early MC, and I'm not very familiar with them. I THINK 
those are the ones where the tube that inserts in the rubber grommet is metal. 
If yours is plastic, then there's no washer. And I though the washer just had a 
round hole, but I'm not sure about that.
