The seals have quite a bit of flexibility in them and a hone barely removes anything. > The original MC is a 19. (It's stamped on top of the MC) Stamped or cast? I usually see a cast "19" on the side, but that's with ATe parts. Is this one from FAG? I have parts for a lot of sizes, but 19 is the one I use most of the time. > Sorry about the pushrod, Jim. I'll have to go back to my Bentley tonight and see if I wrote anything in it. I can check a virgin pushrod that I have at home to see what it is set at. Once we get a better idea we can get someone with a genuine VW shop manual to check in there and see if that mistake is there, too. It might be. Dave Hall may remember this from going thru it before. I think he came up with the workshop manual length. Dave also has a scan of the gauge that can be used to set the rod to the correct length. We're supposed to be able to make this gauge ourselves (it's just a piece of sheet metal, cut into a specific shape) but I've never bothered to make one. I can send you that scan if you like. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
