I'm spending the day replacing the fuel lines on CheapSquare. It appears that a PO has removed the fuel filter. My question is: Does the filter go on the suction side of the pump, between it and the tank, or the pressure side, between the pump and the engine. It looks like the suction side, but the Bently manual assumes that there is an old filter to remove, and doesn't specify the location. I'm going to the store to get one, hopefully someone will post a reply to this before I get back. The car is a 1970 Square, fuel injection intact, but sitting for 20+ years. I'm planning on flushing out the lines with good gas before I hook up to the engine. Any other tips on bringing this thing back to life? I tried to replace the plugs, but they are stuck in the heads pretty good, and I didn't want to strip threads. I'm hoping that I can get it to run with the old plugs, and the heat cycle will break them free. Is there anything to be done for ancient fuel injectors? I haven't pulled them to see what they look like. What I want is basically a miracle and everything to operate after sitting for so long. Wish me luck!!
