Jake, The reason I was looking into analog was because a report from some guy in the net who bought and tested both types, first he bought the LED type and saw that the LED flucuated alot and then used the Westach one and found that in fact it was fluctuating anyhow, I think he mentioned that the Westach was buffered, see e-mail below for information on all of this. I spoke to the Westach lady/manager for a good while and she told me that there are meter clones out there that claim to be Westach and are advertised as made by Westach and are so exactly manufactured like the Westac some may say "Westach" or other company names, the same , even down to the little blemishes during stamping or metal coating of the rear case, she knew this because customers from other vendors returned their purchased products for repairs or exchange due to part failures, sales folks told them that these were made by Westach when they are not. After the factory Westach employees inspected many of these, they found out they were being cloned, kind of like my dad's Leica that was brought over from Japan after world War II , sent it to Leica for repair and found out it was an exact copy, like a fake Rolex. Call Westach and find out if your unit is a clone it may be , maybe that is why it fluctuates alot or maybe the LED's will too anyhow, dependant on the sensor type and if the meter is buffered. I have one, the quality is pretty good, but the needle fluctuates a lot - it may be how I had mounted it, but I'm not positive. I had it in the merge section of my old super beetle, in an exhaust fitting I got from CB as well. The GM Fuel Injection guys swear by plain 'ol LED meters - most of them don't think the analog gauges are worth a hoot. My experience has told me that I just need to make double certain the wiring and mounting is good - I'll rely on my ECM in the truck to get it's own reading and get that info from the laptop eventually. For the type III, I will probably use an LED meter in the end.
