Sounds like I could do with one of those on my '71. The leak round the windscreen has caused all sorts of electrical gremlins (not AMC Gremlins....) to appear, including the red warning light in the hazard (emergency flasher) switch to illuminate constantly, the green arrows in the fuel gauge to blink independently of the indicators (which so far still work normally), and finally the hazard light switch has seized solid. The new screen rubber's on order (genuine@ £100; that hurts), but it's taking it's time to arrive via our wonderful postal service. Speaking of screen rubbers, VW Heritage in Brighton said they could do repro deluxe type rubbers for about £20-25. Unfortunately they were nil-stock, and their supplier has a minimum quantity of 30. They've sold two in the last year, so they're not too keen to get lumbered with a shed-load. I wonder if that would be a good opportunity for the club (Dave H?) ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
