I think only a minority of US states still use 2 plates, Wisconsin being one of the 2 plate holdouts. Is all of Europe 2 plates? How about elsewhere in the world? My Dad used to have a Mercedes which had VERY nice provisions for mounting the rear plate, but minimal thought had gone into the front. In his case that was fine, because where he lives they only have 1 plate. I guess this led me to believe that single plate systems were more widespread in the world. I owned my first squareback in that state and I found nice black rubber plugs for the front holes in the body. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
