Just remove the buzzer. Both of my late models had their buzzer removed -- it's really annoying (which is its purpose of course)! As for the switch, they are extremely simple, mechanical switches. Did you try cleaning up the metal with a wire brush? Lubricate the sliding assembly? BTW volks, please trim your messages down as there's no need to include all of the message text when replying.
