Whatever turns you on I suppose - aside from cleaning the relay points carefully and checking for obvious bad connections, are they really expensive enough to bother? I'm thinking of the 1" square black box from the later ones - maybe yours is something very different. I'm not sure why something that sits up high under the dash needs to look authentic! I think the mass of iron in the relay(s) causes condensation - it is important to mount the relays with the pins downwards so condensation drains out rather than fills them up - I think that's how ours has them normally, but it's worth thinking about if you have extra relays around the place. Those damn black boxes that flash the hazards and directionals. Anybody got an internal wiring diagram for it? I've got 3 that don't work and I figured I'd try and have been toying with the idea of stuffing new internals in there to make it work but keep the original look. I've seen those flasher kits from say, midamericamotorworks, that have two relays (or something) mounted to a plastic base... anybody know how those are wired? > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
