I actually replaced them with plenty of tread left, but their rain traction for the last 30,000 miles was abysmal. They hydroplaned like crazy. Letting my wife drive the car once in the rain was enough to easily convince her that I really did need new tires. I got Goodyear Triple-Treds to replace them. Rain traction is incredible, but that's what they're made for. At the spec tire inflation, however, the car floated and oversteered alarmingly, so it took a while to find the right pressures. I finally settled on 33psi front, 35psi rear as opposed to the specced 30psi front, 28psi rear. To tie this back to Type3s, what do people recommend for tire pressues on bone stock T3s? ISTR the owners manual listing an incredibly low pressure. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
