ISTR the owners manual listing an incredibly low > pressure. The recommended pressures work fine. I believe they are about 18 psi in front and from 26 to 36 in the rear, depending on the load. I air my squarebacks to 20 front/30 rear unless I'm carrying a heavy load. For heavy loads the rears go up to 36, which is the max rating of the tires. In general, a tire needs more air if it is supporting more weight. It's all a matter of trying to hold the tire contact patch constant. People who put wide tires on their type 3s have to experiment a bit to find the right pressures, but they will end up at even lower pressures than the stock recommendations.
