On my cars (71/72), the top ones are bolts from the front - the starter uses one of them and there is a thread in the engine case for the other to save using a nut - earlier ones have a nut and bolt I think. The two lowers are studs fitted to the engine case and the nuts are the gearbox side. Dave.
