Lee,

You're looking at the wrong bolts.

Those hold the tranny cradle to the frame horns.

You need to look where the engine meets the trany bell housing.

Go up top and look at the front of the motor (John Muir reference: front
is front of car) and look for two bolts that would be horizontal and at
about 10 and 2 o'clock around the flywheel.  Now imagine the same two
at  4 and 8 oclock on the bottom.  Those are 4 17mm head bolts.

Those are the ones you have to remove.

By the way, remove the bottom two first and have a jack under the oil
drain plate when you remove the top two.
