I spent several years in marching bands, but I never suspectedthat they existed in europe, too. ;-)
I think there's a touch of American influence there. . .
Would the variant in the photo be about a '69, or was it earlier? I can't see the detail of the rear license light that would point out a '67 or earlier.
The script on the back reads "Volkswagen Variant S". I think that means it's either a 64 or a 65.
