1963 Notch, basically stock For a long time I've had to be careful when gearing down into second. If I tried to do it when the revs were too high it would grind going in. Over time this has gotten worse and now I often have the same problem going into 1st or reverse. It feels like gears are spinning in there and just won't stop spinning long enough to allow me to get the thing in gear. This happens often but not always and when it does I can get it into gear but I've got to grit my teeth and force it. The oil level in the tranny is good and I've just readjusted to clutch cable to give myself 1" of freeplay. Anyone familiar with this? What does it mean?
