Well, I do have a little experience with them, and I actually prefer to go 
without, as it let's me see what's going on, and has worked fine for me for the 
last 13+ years.

Haven't run nto this due to not using a cover. But there are times one of 
those reflective sun / windsheild things would have helped. :O My only problem, 
is that the damage was already done before I bought the car. :(

Exactly, it might be more of your location, or where you're parking the car, 
than really needing something to hide the car. In my area, I get more rain and 
wind (the wind being the worst) that can cause the damage to the finish WITH 
a car cover. :O
