I don't have any experience with them, but I think they have a couple of problems that most people don't think about. While they WILL keep dust, dirt, and leaves off your car, they will also hold moisture in after a wet spell, and this prolonged wetness can really accellerate rust. Most people don't realize how much moisture can condense inside your car on a cool damp night, but it really makes keeping the rain off the outside pretty pointless.>> Well, I do have a little experience with them, and I actually prefer to go without, as it let's me see what's going on, and has worked fine for me for the last 13+ years. >>The second problem is that when the sun is out they are bound to produce a greenhouse effect that keeps your interior hotter than it would be otherwise. Since heat is the real enemy of all your plastic parts, this is a real problem. One made from some kind of reflective material would be best.<< Haven't run nto this due to not using a cover. But there are times one of those reflective sun / windsheild things would have helped. :O My only problem, is that the damage was already done before I bought the car. :( >> I'm curious about what's going on with your paint. Can you describe the problem better? We need to keep in mind that it MIGHT be your new storage location, but it might also just be something that was going to happen with the paint at this age anyway.<< Exactly, it might be more of your location, or where you're parking the car, than really needing something to hide the car. In my area, I get more rain and wind (the wind being the worst) that can cause the damage to the finish WITH a car cover. :O Bob 65 Notch S w/ Sunroof and IRS 71 Square, now a 2 seat Roadster, pics can be seen at; http://volksrods.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2977 and now awaiting a 2.0L t-4 engine transplant 69 Square AT, daily beater Sold back to the PO :O ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
