I would not drive it this way at all. If you really must, then remove both # 2 
pushrods and disconnect the injector. Drive it very moderately this way.

If you've got a good set of type 3 heads that sounds like a good plan. Get them 
out to RIMCO right away.

I agree that these must have been pretty poor quality heads. I generally prefer 
to reuse my own heads, rather than accept heads which someone sent in as cores 
because they didn't think they were worth saving.
