I talked to Brad on the phone this afternoon and explained that I had very little experience with the old standard mechanical fuel pumps, since most of my work is with the FI cars. I suggested that one test might be to try blowing thru the pump. I think you should be able to blow thru the pump forward, but not backward. The amount of pressure this would take would depend on the strength of the poppet springs, which I would expect to be rather light. Can someone with more experience tell us whether this actually works or not? -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
