Well, they are a slightly different shape, and they go with different valve bodies that were used in different years. VW fiddled with something over the years, so you'd really have to ask them for a real answer. VW sold 3 different VMs for type 3s, the 2 above for the different years of FI, plus a third for use with dual carb engines. Apparently they never offered the AT with the single carb engine. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
