Re: [T3] Stupid idea? - fan housing

I find removing mufflers to be a royal pain, unless it's just freshly
installed, but that probably has a lot to do with my climate. On the other
hand, Daniel's muffler in Israel probably came off easily.

This is true. When I took the muffler off, it was both freshly installed AND in Israel, so it came off with no trouble. On the other hand, a month before that, I put the new muffler on (for the first time) and the very cruddy old muffler and heat exchangers, which for all I know might have been on the car for 15 years, came off very easily too.

The reason I felt the muffler had to come off was that I found some of the pulley shroud bolts very hard to get too. A couple of them were right behind the muffler. I didn't want the same problem with the fanshroud bolts too. The whole assembly is also easier to remove without the muffler.
