I also leave off the clamps that hold them in the middle, as those also seem to make them fail early. Did you find generic grey paper tubes, or were they the alum foil kind? I haven't found anything here that actually lasts very long. I'd love to find something that was durable enough to survive being removed and replaced a few years later. I like your solution of making the steel tubes larger by using bicycle inner tube. That may also have a significant airflow benefit because you're using a larger hose with a larger ID. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
