I should mention that the single paper gasket is probably a remnant from the early days before the baffle plate was introduced. In those days I suspect that all they came with was the single paper gasket. But VW introduced the baffle plate later on and I believe they recommended that it be added to any older engine that was later torn down or that came in with a complaint of too much oil misting in the engine compartment. Every engine should have one now. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
