Yes, that combination of elbows is to clear the fan housing. Take a close look a the picture because some of the elbows have been clearanced by rounding off the large squared-up corners of the elbow. This is necessary to get everything to fit without touching the fan housing.


If you buy the Type 3 full flow kit from Gene Berg you get all these fitting re-clearanced. I bought the kit, but after seeing it, I am sure it would be cheaper to go to Home Depot and get the fittings and clearance them yourself.
