[T3] Transmission Nose Cone Seal
<x-flowed>I think I found out why my transmission and subframe was so covered in
dirty sticky goo. If you remember I pulled the trans and subframe and
cleaned them all up and painted everything. I refilled the trans the
other day with new Royal Purple synthetic gear oil. THis is the same
stuff I have been using since I put the car back on the road a few
years ago. Anyway, I rolled the subframe and trans under the car and
then left it nose done for a few days.
I went out tonight to put the subframe adn trans back in and noticed a
fresh puddle of gear oil under the nose of the trans. Oh-oh! Wheeled
it back out from under the car to investigate. Looked like the oil was
coming from around the shift linkage shaft going into the nosecone. I
looked in my Bentley and they show a bushing and seal on the end of the
nose cone. I don't think I have this.
Here is a picture of the nosecone and shift shaft.

Am I missing the bushing and seal? I think so. Were there some
swingaxle transmission that didn't get one?
I see them listed on CIPs site and other places. I hope my FLVWAPS has
them in stock so I can get my girl back on the road sooner rather than
later. Assuming of course that I should have one.
