Re: [T3] Ignition switch / steering column lock


I think the steering lock was one of those things that got selected, or not, by 
the importer. So each market, and each year, tended to be different. I think it 
was always an option, but by the time the car got to the showroom, the choice 
had already been made. In the US I know that '68s did not get it, but I believe 
that '69s, and later, did. In our case, it was just the whim of VWoA.

It keeps the steering shaft at ground That's where the horn circuit eventually 
gets its ground when you push the horn button.
