Actually, if you change your ALL your FI hose every 10 years Carbs are MUCH more likely to catch fire than FI. Hose is standard stuff... about $1 per foot. You can cut or grind off the crimp on the injectors and pull the hose off the nipple (can I still SAY that?) and use a clamp instead when you put a new hose on. just be careful not to grind into the hose nipple when you get past the crimp. You are many many hours before you have a properly set up carb kit... and the Webers will always be too rich... cutting engine life drastically. With a yongue inexperienced driver, you dont want a car that stalls, or needs to warm up for 5 minutes before it stays running.... this is a problem with carbs. FI starts on the first compression stroke and you can drive off immediately if you choose. It took me 3 years to get the Stock carbs set up right on my Notch, and the warmup curve is still poor.
