I think the choke flap is held open if the spring is the wrong side of the pin, but I might be remembering it wrongly. If you remove the cover that side and hook up the spring correctly then replace with the screws a bit loose, you can turn the choke cover to adjust the choke flap to match the other. They should open together when powered up. The amount of pre-loading determines the rate at which the choke backs off. Dave.
