=> OK. How do I adjust this thing? The left side choke flap => is stuck open because the lever, it's not labeled in any => of my diagrams, towards the front of the car with notches => on it, is preventing it from doing so. Preventing it from closing, is that correct? If you refer to the diagram in the Haynes manual, figure 3.14, you'll find every part on that carb. Adjusting the chokes involves loosening the three harness screws on the heater ring (#10 in that figure) and rotating the heater, which increases or lessens tension on the bimetal spring that operates the choke flap. If your flap won't rotate, you may have something assembled wrong, probably in the choke linkage. I can't imagine how the volume control screw might appear to offer some effect on the choke, so I'm clearly not getting a good picture of what's happening. Was this a condition that changed recently on its own, or has it been this way since certain work was done on the engine?
