FloydH=> that un-numbered screw. Right, that's the throttle stop screw. => Screwing it in pushed on the linkage linked to the => cam thing with the notches. It also opens the throttle at idle -- on both carbs. => I believe this is the "fast idle cam", fig 3.15 part #2. OK, it may be that your choke connecting rod (3.14 #40) is adjusted wrong. You can check it against the right side. Caveat: Your startup procedure should include pressing the pedal fully to the floor once before you turn the key, to set the chokes. This frees the cam and the choke closes under pressure from the temp spring.
