I've run upon sellers who tried to make their margins on unspecified charges like this. It amounts to raising the price arbitrarily to make up for a poor showing in the auction. It stinks, and I take it personally. If a seller won't be reasonable, I refuse to conclude the sale and I do not hesitate to post negative feedback. Other buyers need to know about this too. Those buyers who put up with this treatment only make it more likely to happen.
