Whew, I'm glad I didn't outbid you.  ;) 

This has happened to me a couple times.  For me, it's always one of 2 
things:
1. Someone who feels the item did not sell for enough money so they make it 
up on shipping costs.
2. Someone who ships stuff from their work (so they probably ship it for 
free anyway). 

The last time this happened, I refused to purchase the item.  The seller 
agreed but I know he sold it for less than he paid because he bought it 2 
weeks earlier on eBay.  His own fault for trying to resell it and starting 
the bidding at less than what he paid, ha-ha.
