I hate to destroy the rubber. It's getting hard to find some of those pieces and we've had too many people who cut theirs up first and then came back and asked where to buy replacements. Why twice? Nylon is good, but I'd suggest using a slightly larger rope just to spread the slot wider. Even 1/4" rops isn't too large since it flattens in the groove. > I use armor all to lubricate rubber before installation.
