They are the same width and diameter (4-1/2J x 15), as are late beetle rims, 
but I don't know about the offset. 

You can identify type 3 rims with a straightedge: Lay the straightedge across 
the outside face of the center disk. The outer end of the straightedge should 
just clear, or almost clear, the outside edge of the rim. If you do this to 
beetle wheels, the straightedge will hit inside of where the wheel weights 
rest.
