So, I'm back from Columbus. Oh man, that place is the epicenter of the stripmall universe. Kind of sad, really. Anyway, so I bought a new VOM, unfortunately, no one around here seems to sell analog ones anymore - so I picked up a digital jobbie. I got 12V at the hot fuse, and then anywhere from 13.4 - 13.9 when I started the car. The digital reader wouldn't hold at any one number. So I think I'm ok now. The weird thing is, I'm still not entirely sure what happened. My setup now is no different from when the Gen light went on originally. The gray wire showing 0 resistance WRT ground could maybe have been shorted, but it goes to ground anyway, right? Jim, when I do your isolated generator test, what should my initial reading be BEFORE I short DF to ground? -M ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
