No, the grey wire should be open (infinite resistance to ground.) I'm pretty 
sure that was your problem, but I don't know what went wrong with that grey 
wire. It probably just rubbed thru somewhere. I think it leads to the computer 
diagnosis plug.

With both D+ and DF open (no connections) you might measure a couple of volts 
between D+ and ground. It will increase as you raise the engine RPM.
