The lack of a clutch cable tube seems to be a show stopper here. I'm sure that 
someone has managed to make this conversion, but it would be very hard. I'm not 
sure, but for 69 the rear subframe might also be different, so you might also 
have to exchange that.

The AT tends to be quite reliable, so I recommend that you try to get along 
with it for awhile before you decide to change anything. One thing to be aware 
of is that there are 2 different oil chambers in the AT. There's a dipstick for 
the ATF, but the differential gets GL-5 gear lube which can only be checked and 
filled from below. Check it now. They often get low because they never get 
checked. It takes a 17mm Allen wrench to do this.
