Its actually pretty straight forward- just unbolting the old one and bolting up the new one. You don't need to remove the wheels to just change the damper, but it makes access easier. I took Jims advice and replaced the rubber bush in the steering box arm. For this I had to remove the right hand wheel to get enough access. I used a long bolt and a couple of suitably sized sockets as a press to get it out and squash the new one in. The only slight worrying thing was that the bulbous end of the damper (don't know what its for) wedged hard up against the beam as I tightened the mounting bolt- perhaps I should have fitted spacer washers? Other than that it was straight forward.
