On a carbed engine I squirt a bit of fuel into the carb. You could probably get some into the air intake distributor. If the engine coughs, and dies, it's probably lack of fuel; if no difference it is more likely to be ignition. Sometimes the points just get a bit of surface corrosion - run a knife blade or thin file between to clean it off and try again. Dave.
