I count 7 bolts, including set screws, that could be called retaining bolts.

I'd prefer that you not send me anything larger than 100kB. Larger files take 
too long to download. I generally work off line and try to minimize my use of 
the phone line.

That sounds good. I assume this didn't make any difference in your efforts to 
remove the arm.

Doesn't have to be squeaky clean, just make sure that you don't drop rust or 
dirt in there anywhere

15mm hex head? by 18mm long? I don't know what you mean by "bent sort."

You won't find a replacement thrust ring anywhere. They are long gone from 
everyone's stock. The good news is that they are seldom needed.

With all the troubles you're describing, I get the feeling that you should be 
looking for a good replacement front beam and use the parts you have as spares. 
They're generally cheap if you can find one somewhere.
