I'd prefer that you not send me anything larger than 100kB. Larger files take too long to download. I generally work off line and try to minimize my use of the phone line. > I was able to remove the setscrew/grub screw and it did take me > tapping the allen wrench with a hammer using a good amount of force to > loosen it--I also put it back and tightened it the same way I loosened > it. That sounds good. I assume this didn't make any difference in your efforts to remove the arm. > Should I clean everything up very squeaky clean before > reinstalling the front end, and then grease it appropriately after it > is together, or what? They are long gone from everyone's stock. The good news is that they are seldom needed. With all the troubles you're describing, I get the feeling that you should be looking for a good replacement front beam and use the parts you have as spares. They're generally cheap if you can find one somewhere. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
