Power goes from the fuee box to the horn. The ground wire returns from the horn and connects via an insulated bearing to the steering column shaft, which is electrically floating. The horn ring is has a ground wire which runs down the hollow steering shaft and jumps over the insulated flex coupling, attaching to one of the bolts on the steering gear side of the flex coupling. There is a short ground wire from the top of steering box to the frame Pushing the horn ring completes the ground circuit by shorting between the grounded horn ring and the previously floating steering shaft. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
