OK, I took the engine out and pulled the 3/4 head. Nothing unusual that I can see. I posted a bunch of pictures. Have a look at: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jaransonT3/VWPopping/ I filled the #3 combustion chamber with gasoline and blew air into the exhaust and intake ports and get no bubbles. The valves move freely if I push on the keepers. They feel the same as #4. The keepers all look like they are in place properly. I don't see or feel any cracks. The P&C look good. The cylinder still has its crosshatched machining pattern. The exhaust looks completely free. I can blow air through it no problem. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
