Facinating! I suppose it is just the change in resistivity of the copper at 50C, but I doubt if it actually ever runs at that temp for long. You certainly wouldn't want to be in the car with it at that temp. My guess is that this is just something that might force an error when you first got in the car on a hot day. Keep in mind that temps like these are hard on your dash, too. That's one reason I almost always leave each side window open about 1/4" whenever I park the car.
