So, I FINALLY fixed my brake hose on the right hand side. Using Jim's suggestion, got a 11mm flare nut wrench and still had to resort to heat and Liquid wrench to get it off the steel line. I think I did something stupid though. When I was heating the connection, the rubber line blew right out of its fitting. BLAM! So... for the future DISCONNECT the rubber hose from THE CALIPER FIRST. I don't think any harm was done overall, though. But NOW, with the hose replaced and the brakes bled, what a difference. Even my squeaking problem decreased. The car feels so stable now! Not a hint of lurching to one side. One thing. The brakes feel a tiny bit spongier than they used to. I recall Jim mentioning that this is Ok, but my memory has served me poorly in the past. The braking action is good. I don't feel like it's taking any longer to slow down. - -- Mike Wodkowski 72 FI SQBK Brooklyn wodkowski@mac.com ------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe, E-mail to: <type3-off@vwtype3.org> For more help, see http://vwtype3.org/list/
