The only thing you could have harmed was the rubber hose, and you were replacing it anyway. BTW, it is unlikely that this would have popped off unless the hose was stopped up. That's the only way there could be a trapped volume in there where pressure could have built up. If the hose was keeping the brakes from relaxing back from the rotors, then the pedal travel would have been reduced. You are now back to NORMAL pedal travel, which will seem wrong to you at first. If you really have a lot of travel you may want to check the rear shoe adjustments now that you've got the fronts fixed. ;-) > The braking action is good.
