        I routinely run 90/130 bulbs in H4 headlights, in fact all of my 
running Volkswagens ('73 Bug, and '88 Scirocco) have them installed and my 
Notchback will have a set of European H4's in her when she is done..  As 
long as the headlights are aimed properly the horizontal cutoff of the beam 
is such that the oncoming drivers don't get blinded.  The pattern looks 
like this;

So there is good light off to your right and good light throw down the road 
but not up into oncoming drivers eyes.  In my opinion the new HID 
headlights are much more of a hazard than a set of H4's are since any dust 
on a HID headlight tends to give a glaring effect.  Just my $.02 and YMMV.
